Daily Devotions

Today’s Scripture: “Who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped.” Philippians 2:6, ESV 

Theme: The Jesus Mindset requires the humility modeled by Jesus Himself. Even though He was equal with the Father, He did not give into self-importance like we do. 

Today's Scripture: “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5, ESV  

Theme: We develop the “Jesus Mindset” as we begin imitating Christ, empowered by His Spirit.  

Today's Scripture: “Therefore the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this has been your practice and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes that I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant.” 1 Kings 11:11, ESV 

Theme: Even if we have godly wisdom and influence, if we abandon our God and His laws, we will lose His favor and blessing and experience moral failure. 

Today's Scripture: "For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father." 1 Kings 11:4, ESV 

Theme: Spiritual compromise always leads to division, destruction, and captivity to sin.  

Today’s Scripture: “Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?” 1 Kings 3:9, ESV 

Theme: Solomon initially honors God by humbly seeking wisdom above anything else. God tells us to do the same and promises to generously give us the wisdom we need (James 1:5).
