Daily Devotions

Today’s Scripture: “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” Mark 10:14b, ESV 

Theme: Though we omit those of low status as we form our Christmas schedules and plans, Jesus made time in His schedule for children and “the least of these” and prioritized them. 

Today’s Scripture: “I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.” John 10:14-15, ESV 

Theme: Amid the hustle that comes with the Christmas season, learn to slow down and know the Good Shepherd. He already knows you, loves you, and has laid His life down for you. 

Today's Scripture: “All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.” John 10:8, ESV 

Theme: Do not listen to the noise, especially at this high-stress time of year. Learn to hear the voice of the Good Shepherd. 

Today's Scripture: “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:11, ESV  

Theme: God could have come as a warrior King to conquer; instead, He unexpectedly arrived as a shepherd King to serve and save.  

Today's Scripture: “Jesus said to them, ‘Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.’ And they marveled at him.” Mark 12:17, ESV 

Theme: When we get caught up in debating or trying to conquer our opponents, remember God doesn’t ask us to win the culture war.
