Theme: When we prioritize how we look to others over obeying God exactly, there are consequences; yet God remains faithful.

Wednesday - THE TRAP OF PRIDE

Today's Scripture: “Then Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, ‘Hear now, you rebels: shall we bring water for you out of this rock?’” Numbers 20:10, ESV 

Theme: Due to their pride and anger, Moses and Aaron chose to elevate themselves, taking credit for providing water rather than following God’s specific instructions.

Tuesday - WE NEED AN INTERCESSOR

Today’s Scripture: “The next day Moses said to the people, 'You have sinned a great sin. And now I will go up to the Lord; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin.’” Exodus 32:30, ESV 

Theme: Like Moses, a godly leader continues to intercede on behalf of the people he was called to lead, recognizing wrongs and seeking to help atone for them.

Monday - DOGGONE STUBBORN

Today’s Scripture: “And the Lord said to Moses, 'I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stiff-necked people.'” Exodus 32:9, ESV 

Theme: From antiquity to today, God recognizes His people as “stiff-necked”--stubborn, prideful, and difficult; however, He chooses to lead and save us anyway.
