Theme: Sacrifice can feel like a death to what we want or desire, yet Jesus showed us how to persist beyond the temporary pain for what is eternal.

Tuesday - INVEST IN THE BEST

Today’s Scripture: “When you offer blind animals in sacrifice, is that not evil? And when you offer those that are lame or sick, is that not evil? Present that to your governor; will he accept you or show you favor? says the LORD of hosts.” Malachi 1:8, ESV  

Theme: When we try to offer our leftovers instead of our first and best gifts, God is not deceived.

Monday - THE NEXT RIGHT THING

Today's Scripture: “In the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground, and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and his offering, but for Cain and his offering he had no regard.” Genesis 4:3-5, ESV  

Theme: To us offerings may look the same, but God sees true sacrifice and acceptable offerings.

Theme: Jesus, the Lamb of God, defeats sin by His sacrifice.

Thursday - DISOBEDIENCE, CURSES, AND NECESSARY SACRIFICE

Today’s Scripture: “And to Adam he said, ‘Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, “You shall not eat of it,” cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life’.... And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.” Genesis 3:17,21, ESV 

Theme: Sacrifice is necessary because of our disobedience and the resulting curse.
