Today's Scripture: “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David.” Luke 1:32, ESV 

Theme: Jesus is great, worthy of the throne and the title of “Son of the Most High.” He shatters our expectation of what greatness looks like.

Tuesday - NOT OF THIS WORLD

Today's Scripture:  

“Say to the daughter of Zion,  

‘Behold, your king is coming to you,  

 humble, and mounted on a donkey,  

 on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’” Matthew 21:5, ESV  

Theme: The LORD and King comes to us with humility on a donkey, not a war horse, just as was prophesied and came to pass when Jesus entered Jerusalem.

Monday IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THIS WAY

Today's Scripture: "And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, 'Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!'" Matthew 21:9, ESV 

Theme: We may praise God rightly while at the same time wrongly imposing on Him our expectations of His Kingdom.

Friday - COMPLACENT SELF-SUFFICIENCY

Today's Scripture: “For you say, “I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing,” not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.” Revelation 3:17, ESV  

Theme: When we think we are rich and self-sufficient, we deceive ourselves, failing to recognize our need for a Savior.
