Daily Devotions

Today’s Scripture: “Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12: 28-29 [ESV]  

Theme: Let us offer reverent, acceptable worship to our all-powerful God. 

Today's Scripture: “And David danced before the Lord with all his might. And David was wearing a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the horn.” 2 Samuel 6:14-15, ESV  

Theme: We are not really worshiping God if we are overly concerned about what others will think or how we appear.  

Today's Scripture: “So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.” Psalm 63:4, ESV 

Theme: Our postures, including lifted hands, show an attitude of worship that will benefit us and bless the Lord our God. 

Today's Scripture: "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." Romans 12:1, ESV 

Theme: Worship requires a willing sacrifice. 

Today’s Scripture: “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.” John 4:23, ESV 

Theme: God doesn’t call us to observe worship; He calls us to participate in it.
