Daily Devotions

Today’s Scripture: “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.” Ephesians 4:31, ESV 

Theme: Release bitterness towards parents, not because what happened doesn’t matter, but because following Jesus is right, and the benefits are many. 

Today’s Scripture: “Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.” Proverbs 23:22, ESV 

Theme: To honor your parents means choosing God-honoring attitudes and actions, whether the relationship is healthy, broken, or anything in between. 

Today's Scripture: “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31, ESV   

Theme: When we honor our parents, we acknowledge God’s authority and His design for family.    

Today's Scripture: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother’ (this is the first commandment with a promise).” Ephesians 6:1-2, ESV.  

Theme: Honoring our parents because of our respect for God is a commandment given with a promise of blessing.  

Today’s Scripture: “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!” Matthew 23:37, ESV 

Theme: Godly parents (and leaders) remain available and willing to comfort and protect their children, even when they are disobedient, hurtful, or unwilling to receive help.
