Theme: Good friends set aside pride and ambition, placing the other’s needs first.

Theme: A true friend is willing to sacrifice his or her life, time, talent, and resources, just as Jesus did. 

Today’s Scripture: “Then Jonathan said to David, ‘Whatever you say, I will do for you.’” 1 Samuel 20:4, ESV 

Theme: A true friend is willing to help in times of danger or distress.

Theme: Friends loyally defend each other, even if powerful or influential friends or relatives wrongly oppose them.
