Today’s Scripture: “Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands.” Psalm 115:4, ESV 

Theme: When God doesn’t operate the way we want, one wrong response is to attempt to build and worship something more convenient. 

Today’s Scripture: “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” Psalm 127:1a, ESV 

Theme: God is the true builder. Building His way means releasing control; God’s mission stalls when one person tries to do what was meant for many. 

Today's Scripture: “For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, ...” Romans 12:4, ESV 

Theme: Every part of the body of Christ has a valued function; none are meant to remain unused. 

Today’s Scripture: “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, ...” Ephesians 4:11-12, ESV 

Theme: God never designed us to do ministry for people; rather, He designed all believers to do ministry together. 

Today's Scripture: “Moses' father-in-law said to him, “What you are doing is not good.” Exodus 18:17, ESV 

Theme: Even servant leaders, as faithful and humble as Moses, can end up doing too many things, and become exhausted. This is not good.
