Daily Devotions

Today's Scripture: “But he knows the way that I take; 
 when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.” Job 23:10, ESV  

Theme: Even when we don’t understand, God can bring purpose and good out of pain and evil.  

Today's Scripture: “For I know that my Redeemer lives, 
 and at the last he will stand upon the earth.” Job 19:25, ESV 

Theme: In the middle of the deepest pain, you can know that Jesus is eternally with and for you. 

Today’s Scripture: “Though he slay me, I will hope in him; yet I will argue my ways to his face.” Job 13:15, ESV 

Theme: Never lose your hope in God. You can argue with Him but keep turning towards God. 

Today's Scripture: “And they sat with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his suffering was very great.” Job 2:13, ESV 

Theme: Be the kind of friend who silently comforts. Don’t subsequently preach or give platitudes or reasons. 

Today's Scripture: “And the Lord said to Satan, ‘Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?’” Job 1:8, ESV  

Theme: Living for God does not isolate you from the troubles and trials of the world. Bad things do happen to good people.
