Leader Guide
We have arrived at that wonderful time of the year—Movies at The Cove 2025! This is where we show movie clips and apply biblical truths in a super fun, creative way. The atrium is all decked out; we hand out snacks, and there’s so much energy and excitement. But why do we do this? Because it’s one of the easiest and most comfortable opportunities to encourage and invite our friends, family, and neighbors to hear the gospel in a setting that feels warms and welcoming. The truth is—many of us have fears around inviting people. Maybe we’re afraid of being rejected, saying the wrong thing, or not having all the answers. But God simply calls us to be obedient and trust Him with the outcome.
What you will need: A Bible or your Bible app, a notebook, pen, and highlighter. The verses highlighted below are linked so that you can easily access them during your study time.

Leader: This section is designed to get discussions started, examine God’s truth, and apply it to our week. Life Group leaders should not assume everyone in their group is a Christ follower. Because they are taking part in a Life Group, they must have some openness to know more and explore. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work and let Him lead you as well.
1. Do you struggle with inviting people to church or sharing what Jesus has done in your life? If so, what's the biggest fear that holds you back?
2. Read John 1:43-44. What do you think made Philip follow Jesus so quickly? Do you think it was curiosity, trust, excitement, or something else?
Leader: Sometimes the Holy Spirit moves in people’s hearts in ways we can’t see or explain. The moment Jesus invited Philip was simple—but it changed everything.
3. Read John 1:45-46. Have you ever had an awkward or uncomfortable moment when you shared your faith or invited someone to church? What happened? What can we learn from Philip’s approach?
Leader: Philip didn’t overcomplicate it. He simply said, “Come and see.” We can do the same thing! We don’t have to convince people, defend the entire faith, or have all the answers. We just have to extend the invitation and trust God to work in their hearts.
4. Read John 1:47-50; 20:29. What does this passage tell us about how Jesus sees us, even before we fully believe? What does Jesus say about those who believe without seeing?
Leader: Jesus knows people deeply—He saw Nathanael under the fig tree, and He sees us. Our job isn’t to “prove” anything; our job is to extend the invite and let people encounter Jesus for themselves.
5. Action Steps:
*Read Romans 10:13-14.
*Pray that God will give you the boldness and opportunity to invite someone this week. Ask God to put someone specific on your heart.
*How can we practically practice this “come and see” mindset this week?
