Leader Guide
This week marks the conclusion of our four-week series, I’m So Glad You Asked—a journey through some of the most challenging and thought-provoking questions we encounter in our faith. Throughout the series, we’ve tackled questions that many wrestle with quietly, and this final week is no exception. We’re ending with a foundational question: “What is morality?” This conversation is essential, especially in a culture where definitions of right and wrong are constantly shifting. As we seek clarity, we turn to God’s Word, which remains unchanging and true.
What you will need: A Bible or your Bible app, a notebook, pen, and highlighter. The verses highlighted below are linked so that you can easily access them during your study time.

Leader: This section is designed to get discussions started, examine God’s truth, and apply it to our week. Life Group leaders should not assume everyone in their group is a Christ follower. Because they are taking part in a Life Group, they must have some openness to know more and explore. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work and let Him lead you as well.
1. Did you ever ask one parent for something and, not liking their answer, go ask the other? Now think about a TV show or movie from your past—one that wasn’t controversial then but is now. Why do you think cultural views have changed?
2. Read 2 Timothy 3:16, Romans 1:16-17. How would you define morality? Have you ever felt hesitant or ashamed to talk about what the Bible says on a particular topic? How do these verses challenge and encourage you to trust God’s Word as the authority in your life?
Leader: In today's culture, it can be challenging to stand by Scripture when it clashes with popular beliefs. But these verses remind us that God’s Word has the power to save and that all scripture is from God Himself.
3. Read Romans 1:18-32. What happens to our thinking and hearts when we choose not to honor or give thanks to God? This passage can feel uncomfortable—why do you think that is? Who ultimately gets to define what is moral?
Leader: Scripture can confront us in difficult ways, but the core of morality is simple: are we choosing to honor God with our lives? God alone defines what is right and wrong—not culture, not our feelings.
4. Read Galatians 6:1, Luke 6:32. Imagine a child with a splinter—how would you get it out? Have you ever encountered someone who was a “jerk for Jesus” sharing biblical truth with no love, grace, or compassion? What do these verses teach us about how we should treat others when we speak truth?
Leader: In a previous series we discussed that while we’re not to judge, we are called to stand firm in our faith. The difference lies in how we do it. Truth should never be used as a weapon—it should be paired with love, gentleness, and humility.
5. Action Steps: This week ask God to show you where your understanding of morality may need to align more closely with His Word rather than the sifting standards of culture.
*Maybe you love God but wrestle with some of His teachings. Read Isaiah 55:8-9 and pray for deeper trust in His wisdom.
*Or maybe you need to grow in gentleness and compassion as you speak truth to others. Ask the Holy Spirit to cultivate humility and love in your conversations.
*Let this week serve as both a challenge and an encouragement to live by God’s standards with unwavering conviction, and to love others with Christ-like grace.
