Wednesday - WHERE DO I TURN?

WHERE DO I TURN?

Today’s Verse: “Simon Peter answered him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life...’” John 6:68, ESV

Theme: The best option is always to turn to God and surrender to His will.

AT THE END OF HOPE

A distraught, infertile woman named Hannah went to the temple and prayed, asking God for a son. She begged Him to bless her with children and vowed that she would dedicate her first child to the Lord for all the days of his life. And God heard her. She conceived and bore the child Samuel. And when he was about two years old, she took him to the temple at Shiloh to dedicate him to God's service.

A PERSONAL SURRENDER

Although Samuel's mother committed Samuel to God's service, Samuel had to have his own encounter with God. Three times God called out to Samuel, but he didn’t understand who was calling him. Then the High Priest Eli helped Samuel realize God was speaking to him. When God called once more, Samuel responded whole-heartedly. Make it Personal: No matter your spiritual background or religious affiliation, you need a personal encounter with God. Your parents’ faith is not enough. Your spouse or children’s faith is not enough. Have you freely surrendered your life, heart and will?

Pray: Father, I recommit to You. You are my God and I want to hear Your voice. I want to surrender to You and respond with my whole heart. In Your Name I pray, amen.
