CREATED TO WORSHIP
Kensley Blalock
Today’s Scripture: “Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they existed and were created.” Revelation 4:11, ESV
Theme: “You cannot stay on the sidelines: You were CREATED for more; you were CREATED to worship!
YOU WERE CREATED BY A LOVING GOD
In the 139th Psalm, David declared the truth that you were knitted together in your mother's womb, fearfully and wonderfully made, by a Creator who intricately crafted you for a special purpose. In fact, out of everything in all of creation, He claims YOU as His most prized possession. Think of the trees, the stars, the ocean, the mountains, or any other grandeur that you have encountered in your life. While they are beautiful and bear the mark of the Creator, they do not boast the one thing God has woven into you. They were not created in His image. You, however, were created in the image of our Most High God (Genesis 1:26-27)! God created you in His image so that you may have the heart and mind to love Him deeply, to know Him intimately, and to surrender to Him completely.
YOU WERE CREATED TO WORSHIP
Worship is not just a segment of the church service, where the music ushers us into a time of corporate praise. Worship is not merely singing songs to God. Worship is the posture of our hearts, the attitude we have towards God. It is a lifestyle that we choose to live where we respond to all that the Lord is, all that He has done, all that He is doing, and all that He will do. When we worship the Lord, we commune with Him in a holy and intimate relationship where we offer Him praise, thanksgiving, and adoration. We worship the Lord when we approach Him humbly, asking for His Spirit to mold us more to the likeness of Jesus Christ as we seek to serve Him wholeheartedly.
YOU WERE CREATED TO KNOW GOD
When we choose to worship the Lord through the lives we live, we experience Him at a greater level. We see Him as Jehovah-Rapha (our God who heals), we experience Him as Jehovah-Jireh (our God who provides), we feel Him as Jehovah-Shalom (our God who is peace), and we are led by Him as Jehovah-Raah (our God who is our Shepherd). Worship is a choice, and when we choose to worship, we are living out our life’s purpose. As you choose to worship, you will live in the fullness of the life God desired and designed for you to live. Through a lifestyle of worship, you will find peace that surpasses all understanding, a joy that reaches beyond your wildest dreams, hope that surpasses what your mind can fathom, and a life that will honor your most-deserving Creator.
Make It Personal: If you are searching for more today, know that it will be found when you posture your heart to praise. You were CREATED for more; you were created to worship!
Pray: Lord, I worship You today! I worship You simply because YOU are worthy of my praise. You are worthy of my adoration. I CHOOSE to worship You, because I know who You are. You are my Creator, my Heavenly Father, my Healer, my Comforter, my Peace, and my Provider. Lord, please continue to open my eyes to see You moving in my life today. Continue to open my ears to hear Your voice. Thank You for the breath that You have given me, and for the life I have today. I commit to using all I have for Your glory, God. I love You, and I worship You. In the mighty Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
