Suffering can cause confusion. We know God is good; yet life is hard. We don’t see everything going on. There are spiritual battles that affect us, even when we can’t see them. Remembering that we, like Job and others, only see part of the picture helps us to lean in when we don’t understand. Suffering and pain will find us. God doesn’t promise to keep us from it. Our difficult responsibility is to lean into God when we are tempted to pull away because of unexplained suffering. What a difficult task!
