Daily Devotions

Today’s Scripture: “And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.”  Luke 2:8-9, ESV 

Theme: Like us, the frightened, unsuspecting shepherds were invited to know Jesus and to tell the world about Him. 

Today's Scripture: “‘Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.’” Matthew 7:21, ESV   

Theme: God is Master of our actions, not only our words.  

Today’s Scripture: “And he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’” Job 28:28, ESV 

Theme: God is Master of all knowledge and wisdom. 

Today’s Scripture: “He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of His people He will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken.” Isaiah 25:8, ESV 

Theme: God is Master over death and the Giver of life.  

Today's Scripture: “I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession, saying, ‘O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments.’” Daniel 9:4, ESV 

Theme: God is Master of the Covenant, Law, and forgiveness of sins.
