Daily Devotions

Today’s Scripture: “Now an Angel of the Lord said to Philip, 'Rise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.' This is a desert place. And he rose and went.” Acts 8:26-27a, ESV 

Theme: Be willing to get up and go to uncomfortable places, particularly when we have been sent by God.  

Today's Scripture: “I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf.” Romans15:30, ESV 

Theme: Stretch yourself to work and pray together with God’s family whenever you are asked. 

Today's Scripture: “If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?” James 2:15-16, ESV 

Theme: Taking the Bible seriously means living it out and helping hurting people. 

Today’s Scripture: “Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.” James 2:18-19, NIV 

Theme: Believing in God without loving God isn’t enough. 

Today's Scripture: “If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.” John 12:26, ESV   

Theme: Small changes help you get to where God is calling you. Put actions to your decision and commitments to God and walk in the power of the Spirit.
