Daily Devotions

Today's Scripture: “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Hebrews 13:16, ESV 

Theme: Do good, share sacrificially, please God. 

Today’s Scripture: “But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.'" 1 Samuel 16:7, ESV 

Theme: Human standards, including appearances and success, don’t impress God; a right heart does. 

Today’s Scripture: “Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.” Acts 5:4, NIV  

Theme: Sin (especially sin that looks like a good deed) may be hidden from people but never from God. 

Today's Scripture: “All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.” Acts 4:32, NIV  

Theme: The Acts Church mutually agreed to pool resources, thereby rejecting both excess and deficit.  

Today’s Scripture: “And all the people saw him walking and praising God and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.” Acts 3:9-10, ESV 

Theme: You only get to see the miracle when you step out of your comfort zone.
