Theme: While there isn’t anything wrong with an occasional nap or rest, God doesn’t call us to hide away, seeking comfort and avoiding work or reality.

Theme: Living comfortably lukewarm and apathetic is not acceptable to God.

Friday - THE UNFINISHED STORY: PRIDE OR GRACE?

Today’s Scripture: “But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’” -James 5:6, ESV 

Theme: God is faithful to support and elevate the humble heart, but He rejects the proud.

Thursday - UPSIDE DOWN KINGDOM

Today’s Scripture: “And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.’” Matthew 18:3-4, NIV  

Theme: Not power or greatness, but humility like that of a child is highly valued in the kingdom of heaven.

Wednesday - BUYING POWER

Today's Scripture: “Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money, saying, ‘Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.’” Acts 8:18-19  

Theme: Sometimes we try to buy our way into holiness, leadership, or power. While this often works in the world, it doesn’t work with God.
