Tuesday - PROMISE OF REPENTANCE

Today’s Scripture: “’Yet even now,’ declares the Lord, ‘return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments.’” Joel 2:12-13a, ESV  

Theme: God’s people were repeatedly unfaithful, yet they longed for restoration, justice and hope; God is generous and faithful to provide.

Monday - ALL OF YOU FOR ALL OF HIM

Today’s Scripture: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Deuteronomy 6:4-5, ESV 

Theme: The Shema, a faith-affirming Jewish prayer recited every day, reminds God’s people who He is and of the first and greatest commandment.

Friday - PRONE TO DRIFT

Today's Scripture: “And the people of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, so the Lord gave them into the hand of the Philistines for forty years.” Judges 13:1, ESV  

Theme: People repeatedly give in to evil and God lets them (and us) stray for a while. Though he was flawed, Samson was sent to Judge Israel and God used Him to deliver His people.
