Today’s Scripture: "Then Moses said to Aaron, 'This is what the Lord has said: "Among those who are near me I will be sanctified, and before all the people I will be glorified."' And Aaron held his peace." Leviticus 10:3, ESV 

Theme: God's instructions are not to be ignored; doing so is destructive. 

Today’s Scripture: “Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Hebrews 13:15-16, ESV 

Theme: Sacrifice has many forms and is offered daily by the believer by living a life that constantly offers to participate, saying, “Here I am.” 

Today's Scripture: “Even if I am to be poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.” Philippians 2:17, ESV 

Theme: Acknowledging that sacrifice comes at a cost, the believer sees beyond the temporary pain and is able to rejoice. 

Today's Scripture: “So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood. Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured.” Hebrews 13:12-13, ESV  

Theme: Sacrifice can feel like a death to what we want or desire, yet Jesus showed us how to persist beyond the temporary pain for what is eternal.   

Today’s Scripture: “When you offer blind animals in sacrifice, is that not evil? And when you offer those that are lame or sick, is that not evil? Present that to your governor; will he accept you or show you favor? says the LORD of hosts.” Malachi 1:8, ESV  

Theme: When we try to offer our leftovers instead of our first and best gifts, God is not deceived.
