Are you in a place of contentment, or are you striving to get there? Are you at peace today--in the present—or would you say you are trying to get somewhere different or get away from your past? We need to let go of the past, the future, the glory, and the failures. We need to give our lives to God to be at rest and in a place and contentment.

In every life, there will come hardships and hurts, trials and troubles. Jesus Himself said this would be so. Yet He also promised to be with us and respond to our faith. How do you hold on to faith, when God does not seem to hear, or the answer is long delayed? Let’s look at some verses that will help us.

We are all individuals. We come from different backgrounds, different triumphs, and different hurts. We have labels, or even self-perceptions, which we allow to define who we think we are. Are you ready to let God reveal His definition of your identity?

We often assume our friends and neighbors aren’t interested in God. On the contrary, everyone is searching for something to satisfy them at a deep, soul level. People are looking for Jesus, whether they know it yet or not. We know the only one who can meet their needs and it’s our job to share it and invite everyone.

We often want to follow God, but we also have our own “really good” plans. Maybe God’s promise seems unclear, or late, or is not leading us the way we want to go. Why should we trust Him and wait for His direction and provision? Check it out in this study.

No matter what you have or what you are striving to attain, your soul is looking for something more than short-term happiness. Yes, achievements and acquisitions will make you happy for a season. But long-term satisfaction is found only in a life that honors God and is focused on eternity, not the here and now.

We can be so easily influenced by others. They tell us we need more or less. We need to be bolder or quieter. We need to be older or younger! The truth of God needs to ring loudly and clearly in our hearts and minds. Then we must choose to believe what God says, not what others say about us, our abilities, or our value.

Is it a lie that “I’m not enough”? Well, partially. But the truth does not end with our sinfulness and unworthiness. God has redeemed us and has a plan for our lives. Let’s look at how He makes us righteous and uses us in His work.
